Jagged Alliance Series

• Games in the series: Jagged Alliance (JA), JA: Deadly Games, JA 2, JA 2: Unfinished Business
• Description: Squad-level real-world tactical game with a bit of RPG elements added.
• Similar games: UFO: Enemy unknown, Terror from the deep, X-com: Apocalypse
• My opinion: All the games in this series are very good. Better than the X-com games because of the added RPG-element and the realism of the weapons.
• Other notes: JA:DG and JA:DG comes with map editors.

Heroes Series

• Games in the series: Heroes of Might and Magic (HoMM), HoMM II, HoMM III, HoMM III: Armageddons Blade, HoMM III: The Shadow of Death, HoMM III: Armageddons Blade, HoMM: The Quest for the Dragonbone Staff, HoMM IV, HoMM IV: The Gathering Storm and more
• Description: Fantasy Strategy/RPG
• Similar games: Kings bounty (this is almost part of the series), Warlords Series
• My opinion: Heroes 3 is IMHO one of the best games ever made. Heroes 2 is very similar and is almost as good (not as good graphics and fewer units).

Thief Series

• Games in the series: Thief, Theif Gold, Thief II
• Description: First Person Sneaker
• Similar games: Hitman (?)
• My opinion: I think these games are probably the best linear games ever made.

Alpha Centauri

• Expansion: Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire
• Description: Like civilization but on another planet and with the option of designing your own units. You can also choose different factions which have different pros/cons.
• Similar games: Civilization series
• My opinion: I have played this game a lot and think it is better than any civ game mostly because you have the choice of designing your own units and because of the development of the tech-tree which i think is extremley important in this kind of game.

Master of Orion Series

• Games: Master of Orion, Master of Orion II Battle at Antares, Master of Orion III
• Description: Turn-based space strategy
• My opinion: Master of Orion II is the best space strategy game I have played so far. It is better than Ascendency because of the higher difficulty and the deepness of the game, but it has poor graphics.
